Composting, step by step

  1. Pick your location

    Decide indoors or out; outdoors wants sun and drainage, indoors wants a spot that's handy but out of the way.

  2. Pick your bin

    Choose a bin that fits your space and lets air in; stash used Rounds in the storage bin until you're ready.

  3. Add your materials

    Layer roughly two parts "brown" (twigs, leaves) to one part "green" (food scraps and Rounds), and mix when you add.

  4. Maintain and harvest

    Keep it balanced and turned; in a few months it'll smell like earth and it's ready for your garden.
